Our Farm "To be here, caring for a small field, in full possession of the freedom and plenitude of each day, every day - this must have been the original way of agriculture."- Masanobu Fukuoka
Costa Digiano is located near the town of Cingoli on an eastern facing slope with views stretching over the hills of Le Marche all the way to the Adriatic sea (40km). It’s a lushly green and rich countryside, home to a bounty of wild fauna and flora.
It's the site of our dream project, where we creating an organic farm based on the observation and emulation of natural ecosystems, where respect and care for nature are at the heart of our goal to create a peaceful and sustainable lifestyle.
The heart of our farm is an ancient olive grove with 120 century old trees of the rare Mignola variety, a heritage cultivar native to the area around Cingoli.
In the summer of 2012 we put up our Mongolian yurt, the center of our Permaculture garden, around which we're developing our homestead.
We're now in our second year of beekeeping and are experimenting with Warrè and Kenya Top Bar hives, searching for the most natural way to keep our bees healthy and happy.
Our worm beds are growing (exponentially actually) and beginning to show extraordinary results while we transform every kind of organic waste into a precious humus.
